Women’s Wellness Retreats:

Rediscovering You

Women’s Wellness Retreats:

Rest and Renew

“This short retreat gave us a taste of what it would be like if we could press pause on our life, and run away to recover ourselves. We put zero expectations on ourselves. There were no responsibilities, no plans, no schedule, no-one telling you to get up and stop being lazy. We even attempted to turn off the nagging voices in our heads telling us we weren’t doing enough. We had the option to take a walk, color, read, journal, nap, take a bath or sit in the sauna or hot tub. Life felt simple for two days.

I had time to reflect on the pace of my life. We made vision boards of what we wanted for our future. We ate cookies without telling ourselves “you’re going to get fat.” We cooked delicious meals and broke bread together. We supported each other with advice, a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to listen. I didn’t know most of the girls well before the weekend, but by the end I felt a deep bond of sisterhood with these ladies.

It was just what we needed to take a moment for self reflection and self care. We took time to re-evaluate our priorities in life and seek advice on big changes we were seeking. It helped me recenter and reenter society with an awareness for my own needs as much as others. Weekends like these feel essential to our own survival as women.”

Melissa

Feeling exhausted? You’re not alone. Modern day women are super busy, a ton on our plates, taking care of everyone but ourselves, overworked, stressed out, and tired. We are exhausted from trying to do it all and do it all perfectly. We need a break to rest and renew with other women who get it.

Our retreats were created because we believe women need a safe space to take a few days to take care of themselves. To spend time with other amazing women while nourishing mind, body, and soul.

About Lindy Ariff

“This was my first all women’s retreat and it was everything I could have asked for. I was able to completely relax, surrounded by gorgeous nature. I deepened my connection to those around me and took time for myself to reflect. For me, the best part of the retreat was being very intentional and unprescribed about how we spent each hour of the day, not waking up at a specific time, cooking meals together, reading books, crafting, drinking wine and going for walks. Also, the food was amazing.”

Emily

“The women’s retreat was lovely. It was great being together, thinking about our challenges and how we shape our own experience in the world. The activities that made me  uncomfortable were a useful challenge, setting me up for a year of open mindedness and flexibility. Lindy’s facilitation was wonderful and added peace to the weekend. She kept me very much within the present.”

What should I leave at home?2019-09-17T21:17:55+00:00

Since we are intentionally and mindfully unplugging from our digital devices, you might want to leave your computer/ipad at home. Due to the nature of the retreat, please leave your pet at home.

Do I have to participate in everything?2019-09-17T21:14:54+00:00

Yes and no. Of course we support you in doing as much or as little as we have planned that’s right for you…and what makes the experience so special is the active involvement in group activities like like meals and circles. The schedule gives you a sense of the flow of each day. It’s always subject to change, depending upon the needs of the group, weather, etc.

What if I come by myself?2019-09-17T21:14:07+00:00

The majority of our retreaters come by themselves. Although you may come alone, you will leave the retreat with new, lifelong friends. We have many women who meet on retreat come back on others together.

What are the benefits of a retreat?2019-09-22T22:24:59+00:00

Transformation takes place in our lives when we take the time to slow down and take care of ourselves. Some benefits may include: stress reduction, relaxation, inner peace and balance, rejuvenation of mind-body-soul, reconnection with our self, reconnection with nature, clarity of life purpose and vision, learn to be more present in your life., feel nourished in mind-body-soul.

Is there cell service and wifi?2019-09-17T21:12:51+00:00

There is a cell phone reception at the property. You can get some reception in most areas. There is also wifi if you need an Internet connection. We strongly encourage you to take a break from your computer and cell phone to experience a deeper retreat for yourself and respect others on retreat.

Is spending time on me selfish? I feel guilty…2019-09-22T22:25:13+00:00

Absolutely not. The way we see it is that it’s selfish not to take care of yourself. In our modern society it’s hard to carve out intentional time to restore yourself so you can show up for the people and spaces that you love in your life.

What goes on between scheduled sessions?2019-09-22T22:25:26+00:00

The weekend is designed to be restful, nourishing, and fun as well as space for healing and growth. During our down time you can spend time meditating, reading, writing, journaling, taking a bath, gazing in nature, going for a walk, or getting to know new friends

What if I can’t unwind and slowdown?2019-09-22T22:25:36+00:00

Everything this weekend is about reminding ourselves how to slow down. Some might be able to do it immediately and others it might take until Sunday to begin to unwind. We just trust that space being created on this retreat will continue to filter through our lives in the weeks and months ahead.

What actually happens at a retreat?2019-09-22T22:25:50+00:00

Together we learn, nourish, heal, rest, and renew! There will be down time to read a book and journal, drink tea and relax, come together for food making and lovely meals, and intentionally work on slowing down and taking care of ourselves. The retreat is very interactive. There will be short talks to present information, group circles and discussions, optional stretching, and meditation. Lindy is skilled with using guided imagery for self-discovery, healing, and skill-building. All participation is voluntary and there is no judgment.

What will the group be like?2019-09-22T22:26:00+00:00

Our retreats are small and intimate. Smaller groups sizes create the ability to be more in flow and creates more intimacy between the facilitator and individuals as well as with each other.  The group quickly becomes a loving family and most people stayed bonded and connected with other group members the rest of their lives. The group is comprised of women who intentionally want to rest, renew, and nourish themselves in a safe and loving environment. You will have plenty of time to interact and build community and lasting friendships.

Depending on the facility, groups are no more than 12-15 participants and are often smaller. There are always limited spaces available and retreats area almost always filled.

Should I book any other activities/massages ahead of time?2019-09-17T18:24:54+00:00

Let us know if you’d like us to book a massage for you ahead of time. You’re here to relax and enjoy- leave the scheduling to us!

What is a digital break?2019-09-22T22:27:13+00:00

At the Bodhi Tree we find that a digital break is helpful in restoring our mind-body-soul. This means that we give ourselves permission to disconnect, put our phones away and connect with each other and ourselves.

All we are asking is that you keep your digital devices in your rooms and mindfully use them.

How do I get there?2019-09-17T18:01:06+00:00

Our Winter Retreat 2020 is located on the Oregon coast. It is accessible via car.

Can I carpool?2019-09-17T18:05:25+00:00

Yes! If you are interested in carpooling we will loosely coordinate this for you. Indicate on the registration form if you are interested in carpooling and we can put you in touch with someone coming from your area of town and you can see if it works out! With all carpooling I suggest you have a back up option since unforeseen circumstances can come up for people and cars. When it works out though, it’s a wonderful way to get to know new friends.

What can I expect in terms of food at the retreat?2019-09-17T18:11:54+00:00

You can expect to eat very well!

We are lucky in the pacific northwest to have access to local, sustainable, and organic food.

All the meat we serve comes from local organic or transitional producers as does much of our produce.

And there will be yummy snacks and nourishing drinks throughout the retreat.

We are happy to accommodate most special dietary needs – please remember to complete the allergies/special diet section of the registration form.

Since the meals are all family style we will make sure that there is always something that you can eat on the menu- please let us know beforehand so we can accommodate.

Will therapy dog, Bodhi, be at the retreat?!2019-09-22T22:30:16+00:00

Everyone loves therapy dog, Bodhi! He is adorable, big, and non-hypoallergenic If he is attending a retreat it will be made very clear.

While he will be at some retreats, he will unfortunately NOT be at the Winter 2020 so his mama, can focus her time and attention on nourishing you!

Is Lindy going to be offering individual energy sessions?2019-09-22T22:27:41+00:00

If Lindy could be in two places at once she would!! Since she will be lovingly hosting she will most likely not have time to do individual energy sessions. We highly recommend coming into her office in Multnomah Village for a session or doing a distance healing session prior to your retreat.

Do I have to be one of Lindy’s clients to join?2019-09-22T22:27:49+00:00

No, of course not. The only requirement is to identify as a woman, to bring an open mind and heart.
